  1. Rinse the electrode with deionized water before using it. Avoid touching the bulb at the end of the electrode with your fingers, as oils from your skin can affect the accuracy of the pH reading.
  2. Immerse the electrode into the sample solution, making sure that it is fully submerged and not touching the sides or bottom of the container.
  3. Stir the solution gently with the electrode to ensure that the pH reading is consistent throughout the sample.
  4. Wait for the pH reading to stabilize on the meter display. This usually takes around 30 seconds.
  5. Record the pH reading on the data sheet or computer software.
  6. Rinse the electrode with deionized water after each measurement to prevent contamination and prolong the life of the electrode.
  7. If you are finished using the meter, turn it off by pressing the power button.
  8. Store the electrode in a protective solution or storage solution provided by the manufacturer to prevent it from drying out and becoming damaged.
  9. Calibrate the pH meter regularly using the appropriate buffer solutions to ensure accurate and reliable readings. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for calibration.
  10. If the electrode becomes damaged or fails to give accurate readings, replace it with a new one.
  11. Clean the pH meter and electrode regularly according to the manufacturer's instructions to maintain optimal performance.
  12. Note: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety goggles, and lab coat when working with chemicals and laboratory equipment.
