রতনের লোকালয়ে ফেরা: রতন নানারকম আকার ইঙ্গিতে তাদেরকে বুঝাতে চেষ্টা করলেও তারা কিছুই বুজতে পারলনা। তারা আরও জোরে জোরে অপরিচিত ভাষায় চিৎকার করতে লাগল। এতে রতন কিছুটা ভয় পেলেও পরমুহূর্তে সে চিন্তা করল মাটিতে ছবি এঁকে বুঝাতে চেষ্টা করবে। মানুষ আদিকাল থেকেই ছবি আঁকা-আঁকি দিয়ে তাদের ভাবের আদানপ্রদান করে এসেছে। সে একটি গাছের ঢালের ভাঙ্গা অংশ সংগ্রহ করে তা দিয়ে মাটির মধ্যে যেখানে দেখা যাচ্ছে সে নদীর উল্টোদিক থেকে জঙ্গলময় এলাকা থেকে এসেছে। সে নদীর গতিপথ , পাহাড়ের রেখা সব এঁকে দেখাল। জঙ্গলের লোকদের মধ্যে থেকে একজন লোক এগিয়ে এসে খুব নিচু হয়ে কি যেন কতক্ষণ পরীক্ষা করল। এরপর সে মুখে হাসি ফুটিয়ে অদ্ভুত ভাষায় রাজাকে কি যেন বুঝাল। তাতে রাজাও তার কথায় মাথা নাড়িয়ে সম্মতি দিলেন । তারমানে তারা বুঝতে পেরেছে রতন পাহাড়ের ওপাড়ের জঙ্গল থেকে পথ ভুল করে এখানে চলে এসেছে । রাজা হাত উচু করে রতন কে কাছে ডাকলেল। কাছে ডেকে তাকে পুরাতন কাঠের গুড়ির তৈরি আসনে বসতে বললেন । আসের পাশের যারা ছিল রাজা তাদেরকে কিছু একটা বলতে বাঁশের গুড়ির অংশ দিয়ে তৈরি করা পাত্রে দুধে...
